Autographical Bio
'Every project is an opportunity to infect the hearts of others with what contaminates my own.' I have been published in multiple literary mediums including prose, flash fiction, short stories, and non-fiction in the form of zines, digital media, anthological publications, and even my trade paperback book, 50 Things to Know About Border Collies: A Comprehensive Guide for Becoming a Well-Informed Dog Parent. Writing is my life. It is always waiting in the background: An uncontrollable urge to transfer my thoughts to the page so they cannot cloud my mind any longer, and the compulsion to turn that transfer into art, lest my thoughts creep back in, unsatisfied. Writing is a my raw talent in the sense that is how it leaves me. Bleeding meat. Its palpable; always waiting. Is lurks in my bones, a ravenous, beloved parasite. My favorite little demon. Background I am the executive director and participating artist for a bi-annual Queer science fiction and horror anthology publication called Coagulation, by my nonprofit, the Coagulation Foundation. It is my most precious extra-curricular activity in which I hire fellow budding authors and artists from LGBTQIA++, BIPOC, disabled, activist-ally, and/or neurodivergent communities to create masterpieces for publication each spring and autumn. This way we raise up each other’s voices and share our invaluable, poignant perspectives in genres that have historically vilified, victimized, fetishized, and otherwise ostracized these communities as the Other. |
Bio
Cora H. Poe started writing poetry one lazy, summer day at the age of seven. The reaction her family had to her words set in motion a train that would not stop or slow. Throughout her academic career, Cora has excelled at reading, writing, and literature of all varieties. Her love for the subjects followed her into college where she was better able to specify her studies. There she selected courses such as Poetry, British Literature, Science Fiction Literature, Women and Cinema, and Creative Writing. These classes, alongside her fascination with Sociology and psychology, laid the foundation for her impassioned writing career. To date, Cora has written thousands of poems, a myriad of short stories, and dozens fully-developed screen play and novel premises, including a handful of feminist non-fiction self-help books and trade paperbacks. She currently has her debut novel, Edelwood in the works, and is in the process of publishing Monsterhood, her first book of poetry to be publish. Cora does not have an agent or manager at this time and is available for meetings. |
